Mt. Greenwood Pride 2021

For more than 34 years, Joseph Murray and Company, LLC, 3314 W. 111th St., has been helping local residents and businesses with a variety of accounting and tax services.

As a Certified Public Accountant, Joe Murray brings years of experience and a wealth of knowledge to serving his clients.

Because it is difficult to keep abreast of all the tax regulations, it’s important to let a professional like Joe Murray help you stay on the right side of tax laws and, more importantly, avoid any penalties.

In addition to helping you comply with the tax regulations, Joe can help you maximize your wealth by offering business advice, personal finance advice and tax planning advice.

Joe and his staff are committed to the pursuit of quality and excellence in accounting by developing strong relationships with their clients and consistently providing a level of service that exceeds expectations.

The staff offers tax preparation for small businesses and individuals. They specialize in catch-up work for delinquent returns to get new clients back on track with filing their taxes.

Just because you are not self employed nor in business, does not mean that you do not need an accountant. An accountant is probably essential if you think that you or your beneficiaries may be liable for inheritance tax on your death, if you have investments that may be subject to capital gains tax, if you have more than one job (or a job and a self employment), if you rent out a property, or if your tax affairs are complicated in any other way. Capital gains tax and inheritance tax can be substantially reduced or eliminated with careful long-term planning in association with an accountant like Joe Murray.

While taxes should not drive your financial decisions, tax planning is important. To be most effective, a comprehensive financial strategy should include a year-round approach to making the most of various tax-savings opportunities, including tax-deferred investments, income shifting, effective use of deductions and credits, and managing debt.

The staff at Joseph Murray and Company, LLC also has extensive experience with small-business owners. This allows them to tailor their services to meet each client’s unique needs. No job is too big or too small at Joseph Murray and Company, LLC. Every client receives professional attention.

The staff provides bookkeeping, preparation of individually tailored financial statements, management of payroll taxes, preparation of W-2 statements, and offers business advisory services.

Joe uses cutting-edge technology to process tax returns. His office has gone paperless by scanning original tax documents such as W-2s, 1099s, etc. The client receives a paper copy of a return as well as a computerized data storage “stick” with organized original documents and tax return. The stick is “chaptered,” which allows quick access to data. The stick then is used in future years so a client can keep tax returns and related data for ten years on one stick.

Joseph Murray is a certified and licensed public accountant. The staff receives continuing education on a regular basis for both personal and business tax preparation and the new laws that will affect their clients.

Joe has served community business organizations and is dedicated to helping Mt. Greenwood continue to redevelop its business district. He completed an extensive rehab project on his office, which has proven to be an asset to the business district on 111th Street, where he is located.

He also enjoys supporting community spirit and patriotism. To honor military veterans and active service personnel, Joe distributes a patriotic Christmas card throughout the neighborhood during the holidays. He also installed a flagpole in front of his office to fly the American flag in honor of our country.

Joe and his staff believe that Mt. Greenwood is a special place to be because residents and business owners are interested in actively maintaining the area as a good place to work and raise a family.
