The Chicago Cubs recently signed Jake Arrieta, a former Cy Young Award winner and member of the 2016 World Series team, to a one-year, $6-million deal. Arrieta spent the last three seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies, going 22-23 with a 4.36 ERA.

In this week’s Beverly Review Poll of the Week, we asked, “What do you think of the free-agent signing?”

In a Twitter poll that totaled 102 votes, “It’s an OK low-risk move” won with 38.2 percent (39 votes) over “Liked the move” with 32.4 percent (33 votes). “What are the Cubs doing?” got 28.4 percent (29 votes) and “Didn’t like it” earned 1 vote.
