The weather has turned; the calendar switched over to June; and the city of Chicago had two first-place baseball teams! So, what’s been the most pleasant surprise for both the White Sox and Cubs through the first two months of the season? The Beverly Review Poll of the Week has the answers!
In a Twitter poll that totaled 96 votes, White Sox fans are most pleasantly surprised the team is 10 games over .500 without Eloy Jimenez and Luis Robert with 44.8 percent (43 votes) ahead of “Yermin Mercedes” with 30.2 percent (29 votes) and “the starting rotation” with 25 percent (24 votes).
For the North Siders in a Twitter poll that piled up 67 votes, Craig Kimbrel and the bullpen’s dominance took first with 41.8 percent (28 votes). “In the mix for the NL Central” and “Kris Bryant’s return to form” tied with 23.9 percent (16 votes each) ahead of the performance of “Nico Hoerner, Matt Duffy and Eric Sogard” with 10.4 percent (7 votes).
