Hosting a Girls Catholic Athletic Conference (GCAC) Red matchup, Mother McAuley lost 46-41 to Montini on Jan. 6. Sophomore guard/forward Morgan Feil led the Mighty Macs with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals.

Senior Bella Finnegan (8 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds), junior Cailyn McLean (8 points, 7 rebounds) and sophomores Maeve Egan (6 points) and Grace Gambotz (6 points, 3 assists) all provided key contributions.

Mother McAuley delivered a dominant performance through three quarters, going up 36-28. A Finnegan basket on a hard drive to the hoop extended the lead to 41-30 with 5:07 remaining in the fourth. Montini closed the game on an impressive 16-0 run over the game's final five-plus minutes.

The loss dropped Mother McAuley to 9-8, 1-2. The Mighty Macs travel to play at St. Laurence on Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. in a GCAC crossover game.
