CHSAS swimming, diving team takes fifth at sectional

Competing at the Sandburg sectional on Oct. 24, the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences (CHSAS) girls swimming and diving team finished fifth (61 points) in the team standings. Led by Madeline Davis (Mt. Greenwood) and Grace Murphy (Beverly), the Cyclones posted best times of the season up and down the lineup. Murphy finished sixth in both the 200-yard freestyle (2:10.19) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:55.15), seventh in the 100 free (:59.75) and eighth in the 50 free (:27.31). Davis finished seventh in the 100 back (1:09.49) and eighth in the 200 individual medley (2:34.64). Makayla Fuchsgruber finished seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:19.20). CHSAS finished the regular season as the No. 1 ranked team in the Chicago Public League South Division and finished eighth at the city meet.
